We now have a new article up on the Rodeo page.  I was fortunate enough to get to do an article on Christensen Brothers Rodeo Company.  This was especially enjoyable for me since part of their operation was right here where I’m from in Southwestern Oregon.  Some of my first memories as a small child was hanging out at the Douglas County Fairgrounds watching The Umpqua Valley Roundup.  My family was very involved in the Rodeo here in the 1950′s thru early 70′s.  So, the Christensen family are old friends.    I hope you enjoy!!

A lot has been happening lately here at youthsports101.com.  We have added articles under Football, Softball, and Careers In Sports.  We’ve also started our Local Athletes From the Past, portion of the site.  Our first article is found under Oregon. (It can also be found under Douglas County, Oregon.)  Click on the Oregon page and click on the Local Athlets From the Past link.  It can be found at the top of the page.  Our first Athlete From the Past is Glide resident and GHS graduate, John Livingston. We hope to add Local Athletes to other State pages in the near future.  If you know of anyone who would fit this page, please put them in contact with me. My email is youthsports101@yahoo.com.  I’m looking for people that had success in athletics after High School. Played for a four year College, played Minor League or in some sort of professional capacity.  There are also articles in the works for Gymnastics and Rodeo pages.  Hoping to have those posted later this week.  Check back here…I’ll always post when new articles are added.

After a short delay, I was finally able to conduct my phone interview with Hall of Fame baseball writer Hal McCoy.  What a nice and gracious man.  The interview went great and you can check out the story on the Careers in Sports page.  This is the kind of stories I want to have on all the Sports pages, as well as, Youth Health & Nutrition.  If anyone has any thoughts or ties to people related to a certain sport that we have a page for, your help in getting me set up with an interview would be greatly appreciated.  Interviews can be done over the phone or by email or online chat.  I have a couple leads on other pages, so I hope to have other stories posted soon.
